A Gift For Him
I took a moment to pray. To Mother Mary, I told her many things. Every time I start my day by asking for her protection, my days tend to be more productive. She is always the intercessor of our prayers to her Son. In the silence of my prayer, when I tried to speak to Jesus, my mouth couldn’t say anything, remained silent, bowed my head, and suddenly, I cried. “Accept me with all my sins.” At that moment, I truly felt relieved and blessed.
Opa Anton, in his prayer reflection, once said that God doesn’t need our thanksgiving because He is the true source of love. I also remember during the Consecration of the Eucharist, the priest said, “You don’t need praise, but our praise to You leads us to salvation.” I reflect on the word “praise” as a form of gratitude for everything we experience, either pleasant or unpleasant moments.
The reflections of both experiences and statements remind me that the highest offering to God is not our thanksgiving, but our sins. Through surrender, we are guided to live a better life, remain faithful to goodness and always strive to achieve that goodness itself.
